Reparation ALICE backpack

  • reading around a bit here, a question came up; can I with a regular household sewing machine repair the strips on the bottom of my ALICE backpack?

In the past the previous owner cut them loose, and I like to have them back in place, it's a 1/2" strap and one or two layers of this cordura.

I guess I do need some other tread and needles?

The ones delivered with my machine are: Organ Needles HAX1 14 3Pcs

  • Yes, I can make a few photo's but I have to find out how to get them here.

In the base it's these straps who goes around the bottom and compress and tighten the top lid as well.

They had undone the stitching at the bottom, in order to fit a sleep mat or something I think.

  • Hi there,

just wanted to give you an appropriate answer. The HAX 14 Needle n comparison to our Needles is a 14/90 Needle Size. For repairing straps I would recommend a Size 18/110 Needle with a 60 Tex 45 (#69) Thread Size.

cheers and I hope that will help you,
